Ottawa Handbook of Emergency Medicine 5th Edition
The Ottawa Handbook of Emergency Medicine is a peer-reviewed resource designed to help you succeed in the Emergency Department. Developed for clerkship students, junior residents, off-service learners, nurses, paramedics, and any other interested allied health professionals, this resource provides concise summaries to common emergency medicine presentations. We are excited to announce the publication of the 5th edition of the Ottawa Handbook of Emergency Medicine with new and improved content! Highlights of the 5th edition include three new sections: general surgery emergencies (i.e. biliary pathology, appendicitis, diverticulitis), pediatric orthopedic emergencies (i.e. Salter-Harris growth plate fracture classification, nightstick/greenstick fractures, and pediatric fever (based on the most recent AAP guidelines). We’ve also updated our environmental emergencies, cardiac arrhythmias, and approach to ECG sections. We hope this newest edition will be an invaluable resource for all those learning and working in emergency medicine and beyond!
