The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at the University of Ottawa is seeking an  innovative  Medical Education Researcher, to  join our world-class research team. This  Medical Education Researcher will work closely with the Vice-Chair, Research and Scholarship as well as our team of DEM education researchers to conduct and disseminate high-impact education scholarship.  This role  is integral in achieving the departmental vision of world-class emergency medicine through our mission to provide outstanding compassionate emergency care through practice-changing research and innovative medication education.  Stipend amount is up to $60,000 per year based on academic rank and scholarship output.  More information about targets for publications, grants, and salary awards can be provided upon request.

Required qualification: CPSO independent practitioner (or eligible); member of the CMPA; qualified in emergency medicine as either FRCP (Emergency Medicine) or CCFP (EM); a passion for medical education research with formal training at the Masters level or above; and a faculty appointment with the University of Ottawa or another Canadian university, preferably at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.  The Medical Education Researcher must be qualified, and is expected, to work clinically within the Emergency Departments of The Ottawa Hospital; hiring for clinical work will be integrated with the onboarding process for the successful candidate.
